Matt Foley was introduced when this skit was broadcast on Saturday Night Live on May 8, 1993.
A couple of things I find interesting about this video. First, Matt Foley is the antithesis of a motivational speaker, out of shape, horrible dresser, and he ridicules people instead of encouraging them. But in an ironic way he is able to motivate his audience in the right direction precisely because they no longer want him around.
Another thing about this video is a the great physical comedy, and I'm not talking about the "Jackass" movie type physical comedy. This performance is staged and written; and then has to be executed by a great performer.
And finally, sometimes the best way to honor someone is to take a moment to remember them. Chris Farley was a comic genius because he never was afraid to have people laugh at him. Enjoy.
